Farewell! My Manga Collection!
I am going to move to Muzha this summer. My new place is much smaller than where I live now, I won't have enough space to store my collections. I will have to get rid of some (or much) of my collections of manga, books, CDs, and DVDs.
Last weekend, I cleared out my manga collections from a storage room and book shelves; I planed to sell them. I finally realized I have a lot of mangas. (The mangas in the pictures are only 1/3 of my collections.) Giving away or selling my collections is tormenting, I checked every set one by one to ensure I won't regret getting rid any of them.
As checked my collections, I started reading them again. Eventually, I spent more time on reading those mangas than on reorganizing them. I only cleared out small section of my collections, it seems that I will spend A LOT OF time doing this cleaning job.

My Lullaby
I love Beethoven's music a lot, but recently I spent most of my time listening to Tchaikovsky's violin or piano concerto. Every time I listen to them, I imagine I am the player immersed in the music, feeling like what Billy said at the end of Billy Elliot, disappear, like electricity.
I wish I could played piano or voilin well. I have a lot of plans about what I would like to do after I finish my master degree. One of them is that I hope I can pick up piano lessons after I finish my master degree.

天涯歌女 The Wandering Songbird
Lust, Caution
One of the greatest moments in Ang Lee's Lust, Caution. She has no country; she has no family. She is a lonely soul drifting in the wartime. But she has the man's real-self and affectionateness when their hands hold. It's the moment two lonely souls come to attached to each other.
When I searhed for relevant clips on Youtube.com, I found two Chinese legendary actresses, Zhou Xuan and Li Xianglan, also sang the song. The song in different context delivers very different messages.
I never saw any movie starring Zhou Xuan or Li Xianglan in theaters, because they were great stars belonging to my grand parents' generation. But I often read stories about them when I read articles or references regard to Chinese film history.

The clip is from a movie called Street Angle. Zhou Xuan is very cute and her voice is sweet in this film.

2008-06-07 Friends' Graduation
My lovely friends had serious postures when they were taken pictures with our professor.
They are fun and sweet people, and most of them graduate this month. I will miss them very much after they leave our department.
